About me!
I have taught music privately and in school settings for over 30 years.
I earned my Master’s Degree from the New England Conservatory of Music in Vocal Performance and hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education.
My passion for music education stems from early childhood where my mother modeled our household after the Von Trapp Family Singers! Not surprisingly, my childhood memories include singing with my 6 siblings often, especially during long car trips and at family gatherings! At age 11 I began piano lessons. In high school, I decided that being a lead in the high school musicals was something I wanted. Thus began the study of voice. The marriage of piano and voice has since been a life-long passion for me!
Since then, I have been either singing or playing the piano in churches, at schools, at vocal contests, sporting events and even at an apple orchard! My school students call me “Mrs. Music”.
My mission in teaching music lessons is to impart “a thirst for finer music..a thirst which will last for a lifetime” (Z. Kodaly). As well, I seek to nurture creativity and inspire beauty in my students.
